Royal Sovereign cold laminators are available from Dixie Neon.
RSC - 1401 C Using pressure sensitive film up to 55” wide, the RSC 1401 C laminates graphics onto mounting boards up to 1” thick. It operates at speeds up to 16.4 feet per minute. The 1401 C has digital controls for speed and silicone rubber rollers to help deliver a perfect finish. The film supply shafts are equipped with Auto-Grip hubs allowing quick and easy replacement of laminate film rolls.
RSC - 1401 H This laminator offers the same features as the RSC -1401 C with a top roller added for heat-assist. Although this is a cold laminator, the heat-assist facilitates the bonding of the laminate to the board and reduces silvering of the finished graphic.
RSC - 1400 L This is a full featured 55” laminator with laminating rollers that are 50% larger in diameter— making it ideal for vehicle wrap and high volume applications.
A few notes about lamination:
Cold lamination is ideal for use with media and inks that are sensitive to heat. Cold laminators are designed to protect and enhance a wide variety of inkjet prints that cannot be finished using heat and thermal films. Instead, they use pressure-sensitive films and mounting adhesives.
Hot Lamination uses heat (220 to 300 degrees F) to apply the laminate material. It provides a stronger lamination that is more resistant to wear and tear. It is the preferred method of lamination for materials that are not affected by heat.
